A Sandwich bowl is all of your favorite sandwich ingredients, meat, cheese and veggies all chopped up in a bowl and eaten with a fork instead of the traditional way to eat a sandwich, with bread.
Variations of this Keto Lunch Recipe
One of the great things about this keto lunch recipe is that you can change it up easily.
Change up the meat. If you have have a favorite lunch meat you can totally replace one of the ones we have used in this low carb sandwich recipe. Ham, turkey, roast beef, salami, and even baked Italian chicken (if you have left overs) work well in this keto bowl.
Change up the cheese. There are lots of different cheeses that are perfect in a sandwich bowl. I personally like provolone the best but you can use whatever your favorite is! Some great low carb cheeses are: Cheddar, gouda, swiss, and mozzarella.
Change up the dressing. For my sandwich bowls I like to use olive oil,. vinegar and Italian seasoning but there are lot of other options too: mayo, yellow mustard, brown mustard, or even salad dressing. Of course that won’t make yours and Italian sub in a bowl, but that is ok! Customize however much you want to!
Add More Veggies. For mine I like to use onions and tomatoes but you can also use things like sweet peppers, mushrooms, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, olives, zucchini, are great ones. - provolone cheese
- roast beef
- olive oil
- Italian seasoning
How to Make Italian Sub Keto Sandwich In a Bowl
Wash, chop and slice the lettuce, tomato and onion.
Place your lettuce into your tub. Layer the cheese than meat onto the lettuce.
Next layer on the tomatoes and onions.
Sprinkle the oil, vinegar, and seasoning to taste.
Place the lid on and shake the salad to combine. Use a knife to chop everything up and enjoy.
